Chandigarh, July 18
Five women and a man were arrested here for allegedly running a sex racket targeting high end customers, police said Saturday.
"We had got a tip-off about this racket. One of our officials went as a decoy costumer to strike a deal. We arrested five girls and the pimp outside a hotel in Sector 45," J.S. Khaira, deputy superintendent of police (south), told reporters.
All the girls are aged between 19 and 21.
While talking to reporters, one of the arrested girls said: "We do not know about this sex racket. We came to the city just a week back. They had promised us employment in a decent company at the package of Rs.30,000 per week."
