Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid Friday said he was personally in favour of an equality ministry and not the one he was heading.
"I personally was not in favour of a separate minority ministry. Rather, I wanted a minority section in every ministry," Khurshid said while launching a certificate programme in Urdu of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
"That did not happen," he said, adding that this was his personal view.
"I would want an equality ministry where people from the majority and minority communities would play an equal and important role," he said.
