MUMBAI: After introducing India to shows with substance like Balika Vadhu and internationally acclaimed format shows like Fear Factor- Khatron Ke Khiladi, Big Boss, India's Got Talent, COLORS is back again with another ace up it's sleeve. This time the channel is in the grips of wrestling mania that will be making a splash on the channel's weekend lineup. Reviving the age old sport of wrestling in the form of a show that will pit Indian Pehalwan's with pro wrestlers from across borders and continents against each other in gruesome fights to prove their might which is aptly titled 100 percent - De Dhana Dhan! Premiering on 29th August 2009 at 9:00 pm the show will be aired every weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
In a show that will see professional wrestlers from the far off land of South Africa lock horns with apni dharti ke mushtande- 100 percent- De Dhana Dhan is an interesting show that combines elements of reality and fiction to put forth a picture of what it is like to be a wrestler and what it takes to be in a fight and win it. Anchoring the show is none other than the vivacious siren Isha Koppikar while none other than actor par excellence and a boxer in his own right, Sharat Saxena, has taken upon the responsibility of managing the Indian crew of wrestlers. Mentoring the Indian wrestlers will be our very own home grown phelwan Dara Singh. 100 percent- De Dhana Dhan is based on an Argentinean format show -Lucha
Elaborating on this one-of-a kind concept show, Ashvini Yardi, the programming head of COLORS said, "For the first time ever, India will be witnessing the thrill of wrestling with intense drama thrown in for good measure and that too on a general entertainment channel. This exciting show, which has no predecessor, will be combining the adrenaline rush of sports with the drama of emotions. Viewers will witness a true fight of the icons versus the I cans!"
The competing wrestlers include heavyweights from South Africa like: Tornado, Jason Steele, Terri Middoux, Nightmare, Kwaito Kid, Kilimanjaro, Devon Shooter, Blacksmith, Ananzi, Zizou, Ryan Cage, Akilah and Scorn. These dangerous wrestlers will be facing Jogiyaa, Ganya Zoker, Tiger Rapta, King Kobra, Danger Anna, Jack Attack, Sangraam Singh, Thakur, Sando Paaji, Kumbang and Badshah Khan from India.
