Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former central minister Mohammad Taslimuddin resigned from the party Friday.

"I have resigned from the primary membership of the RJD," said Taslimuddin, who was defeated from Kishanganj constituency in the April-May Lok Sabha elections.

Taslimuddin alleged that RJD chief Lalu Prasad's style of functioning was akin to a feudal lord and his ill-treatment of party leaders and workers hurt all.

"Lalu never gave honour to me. He used to humiliate me," Taslimuddin said. He alleged that his defeat in the elections was engineered by Lalu Prasad.

"I am getting offers from several parties but will not disclose now which party I will join," he said.

Political circles are abuzz that Taslimuddin may join Bihar's ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U). "I may or may not join JD-U, it will be clear soon," he said.
