At least 20 people, mostly labourers, were injured Sunday after the ceiling of a building under construction collapsed in this Haryana city adjoining the national capital, police said.
"The ceiling of an under construction building at plot number 222 in Sector 24 here collapsed," a senior police official in Faridabad told IANS.
At least 20 people were trapped under the debris but all of them were rescued by a police team and taken to hospital for treatment of injuries, the official said.
He said heavy load on the roof could be one of the reasons for the accident, but investigation have started to ascertain the exact reason.
Last month, a shopping centre collapsed in Faridabad. Two people were killed in that accident.
