The recently concluded Milan Fashion Week saw Indian designers stand shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the oldest and most renowned couture houses in the world.
In the event's 'new and upcoming designers' segment, the participants were designers Alpana Mittal and Neeraj Chauhan and also Atsu Sekhose. Neeraj feels that it is an honour to have been a part of the show when they are so new to the field.
Global fashion is now beginning to use Indian elements itself. The designs were a good blend of traditional with modern and contained Indian techniques like batik, embroidery, etc. made to suit global tastes.
