MBA student from Ghaziabad kidnapped, murdered

An MBA student of Sikkim Manipal University was kidnapped in Ghaziabad and his body thrown on the railway track in Lucknow, police said Friday.

The police said Imran (22), a second year student of Sikkim Manipal University, received a phone call Wednesday at his house in Garima Garden. Imran told his father he was going to meet a friend and would return soon, but he did not come back.

His father Noor Ali lodged a complaint with Sahibabad police and the police registered a missing persons case.

On Thursday, the Ghaziabad police received a call from Lucknow that Imran’s body was found lying on the railway track under Alam Bagh police station area of Lucknow. The police, on the basis of papers found in his pocket, contacted Ghaziabad police who informed his father.

The father rushed to Lucknow and confirmed the body as of his son.

Additional Superintendent of Police Happy Gupta said “A student from Ghaziabad was kidnapped and his body was found in Lucknow.”
