Cairn India net up 60 percent

Energy firm Cairn India, which operates the Mangala crude oil fields in Rajasthan, Thursday said its net profit for the quarter ended Sep 30 rose 60 percent to Rs.469.5 crore after declining in the previous two quarters.

The consolidated revenue of Cairn India was Rs.229.8 crore for the second quarter as compared to Rs.320.6 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal.

The company, which delivered its first batch of crude to refiners, said it was looking to ramp up production to 125,000 barrels per day by first half of 2010.

The second quarter saw Cairn produce 60,480 barrels per day, down from 65,566 barrels per day in the corresponding quarter previous fiscal.
