Chandigarh, Nov 6

The Punjab Police Friday recovered nine kg of explosives from a motorcycle during routine checking near Khanna town.

The explosives recovered included detonators and gelatine (explosives) sticks.

Police officials said that the explosives were recovered from a bag attached to the motorcycle during routine checking near Machhiwara in Khanna, 70 km from here.

The person riding the motorcycle, however, managed to escape.

"The motorcycle seems to be a stolen one. Its number plate also looks fake. We are investigating to whom it belongs," a police official in Khanna said.

The Punjab Police had recently claimed that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is trying to revive terrorism in Punjab through terrorist groups like Babbar Khalsa international.
