I-League all set to get a CEO by this month

The I-League football competition is all set to get professional with the appointment of a new chief executive by month-end.

All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Praful Patel conducted interviews for the post of chief executive for the I-League at the Football House here Thursday.

Former Mahindra United footballer and coach Harish Rao, AIFF's director of competitions Anil Kamath, and professional event manager Sundando Dhar appeared for the interviews. The AIFF had shortlisted five candidates for the post of CEO but only three appeared for the interview.

Besides Patel, vice-presidents Subrata Dutta, A.R. Khaleel, treasurer Hardev Jadeja and general secretary Alberto Colaco were present on the interview board.

A member of the interview board told IANS that the CEO's name would be finalised by Nov 23.

Meanwhile, the AIFF is keeping mum on its decision to conduct interviews for the post of general secretary and Colaco will continue till Dec 31.

The AIFF had short-listed 10 candidates for the post of general secretary but is yet conduct interviews for the post.
