New Delhi, Nov 19

The national capital Thursday reported 32 new dengue cases, taking the total number of people infected with the vector-borne disease to 945, health officials said.

"In the last 24 hours, we have recorded 32 new dengue cases in the capital. The cumulative figure of those infected is 945," state nodal officer for dengue cases Debashish Bhattacharya told IANS.

So far, two dengue deaths have been reported in the capital - of a nine-year-old and a 15-year-old boy.

The Delhi government is hopeful that with the onset of winter, the number of dengue cases will fall as the Aedes mosquito that carries the disease will stop breeding, the official said.

The official added that as per reports from government hospitals the "dangerous dengue fever cases" were reducing.
