New Delhi, Nov 19

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Thursday said that all government schools in the capital will wear a new look by 2010.

"The city government has left no stone unturned in providing necessary infrastructure in schools. Further, schools are being spruced up under Roopantar scheme and it is expected that all schools will get a facelift by next year," she said.

The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has taken the initiative to upgrade the physical infrastructure of government schools in the capital under the "Roopantar" project. As part of the project, the schools would be provided with basic minimum acceptable standards of health, hygiene and safety.

Dikshit said that in order to impart education to girls, the government has launched the "Laadli" scheme, which would help girls and women to fulfill their dreams of self-reliance and a respectable contribution in nation building.
