Passengers of an intercity train in Orissa had a providential escape after one coach went off the tracks at Baghuapada station in Jajpur district. There were no casualties, officials said.

The train was going from Puri to Keonjhar when the incident occurred, an official said.

"Four wheels of the train slipped and one coach went off the track," said Nirakar Sahu, PRO of the East Coast Railways.

"Train services on the route have been normalized following the incident," he said.

According to the passengers, the driver was unaware that a coach had slipped off the track and kept driving for some time. He was alerted by the passengers. No casualty was reported as the train had slowed down near the station.
