British actor Joseph Fiennes has dismissed rumours he is set to become a father, insisting his new wife is not pregnant.
Fiennes, 39, married Swiss model Maria Dolores Dieguez, 27, in Tuscany, Italy in August. And just weeks after the wedding, the couple was rumoured to be expecting their first child following a report in a British tabloid.
Contactmusic.com reports that Fiennes is adamant the rumours aren't true, but he's looking forward to having children in the future.
"No it isn't (true). A newspaper said I made an announcement, which felt like I opened my French doors and said, 'Ladies and gentleman, I just want you to know...' But it just never happened. I'd love to have kids, I grew up in a large family," Fiennes told Britain's Now magazine.
