Punjab Wednesday started a 24-hour toll-free line for registration of complaints regarding supply of potable water in the rural areas.

A state government spokesman said the 24-hour Complaints Redressal Centre has been set up in Mohali to deal with the complaints of poor and erratic water supply.

The spokesman added that the toll-free number (1800-180-2468) can be called from any public call office (PCO).

The complaints can be registered in Punjabi, Hindi or English.

On registration of complaint, every consumer would be given a number and the concerned water supply division would be immediately directed to rectify the fault, he said.
