The death toll in the boat mishap in the Machkund reservoir on the Orissa-Andhra Pradesh border went up to six Saturday after the body of another missing passenger was found, an official said.

"We have recovered another dead body during the rescue operation," said Krushna Chandra Mishra, the gram panchayat officer of Nandapur block of Orissa's Koraput district.

The incident took place Thursday when a country boat carrying villagers, mostly from Andhra Pradesh, capsized on its way from Pandua village of Koraput to Galaganda ghat of Andhra Pradesh.

One body was recovered on Friday while four bodies were fished out earlier Saturday.

Officials from Andhra Pradesh and Orissa continued the search operation through Thursday and Friday night along with local people.

The bodies of the victims were handed over to their families after autopsy. Five of the victims were from Andhra Pradesh and one was from Orissa.
