The State Government has decided to sanction Rs. 10 crore for the flood mitigation works currently underway at Thampanoor and East Fort areas in Thiruvananthapuram.
The decision was taken at Wednesday's Cabinet meeting, an official press release quoted the local MLA and Minister for Health V S Sivakumar as saying.
The minister revealed that the cabinet arrived at the decision to sanction the fund after Minister for Urban Affairs Manjalamkuzhy Ali and he apprised the cabinet of the situation in Thampanoor.
