Age row: Army Chief withdraws petition

New Delhi, February 10 (ANI): After a marathon hearing in the Supreme Court today over his age row, Army Chief General VK Singh withdrew his petition against the government. The apex court has dismissed his petition after it earlier observed that it was not in favour of entertaining it. The court said that Gen Singh s threshold documents when he joined the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy, stated his date of birth as 10th may, 1950. Though the analysts term it as big blow to the chief, his lawyer said the matter was resolved amicably.
