Cold wave unabated in North India
New Delhi/Amritsar, January 18 (ANI): Cold wave remained unabated in north India, forcing locals to stay indoors. Fog and haze surrounded the air in New Delhi since early morning, crippling life of early risers, including the school children and the office goers. Fog and harsh weather created havoc for passengers too as many flights were cancelled and many more delayed. In Amritsar too, the dip in mercury troubled the locals. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, minimum temperature in most parts of northern India is likely to remain 2 to 3 degrees Celsius below normal, and the mercury would continue to dip.
