Nation remembers Mahatma Gandhi

Ahemdabad/New Delhi, January 30 (ANI): UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dixit, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Defence minister AK Antony among other political big wigs paid homage to iconic freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi at the capital s Raj Ghat today, on his 64th death anniversary. People in Gujarat too remembered Bapu by organising a prayer meeting in Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Ashram.Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 02, 1869 in Porbandar. A lawyer by profession, Gandhi, venerated as the father of the nation , led the struggle for India's independence from British rule by following the path of non violence.
