Army ready to meet any contingency: Army Chief

 
 

Trivandrum, May 08 (ANI): Exuding confidence, Army Chief Gen VK Singh has today said that the army is operationally prepared to meet any contingency in future, days after he highlighted major "shortcomings" in the country's defence preparedness. Talking about corruption in various fields including defence, Singh, at the release of an Army commissioned book named "North East Trilogy", said that adequate measures were being taken to check corruption. He also said it was important that the defence forces are not weighed down with sub standard equipments.
