Assam violence, not a communal problem

Guwahati/Bangalore/Vadodara, Aug 19 (ANI): A local Muslim leader of Assam, Hafizul Ahmed recently said that the recent ethnic clashes at Kokrajhar and nearby districts in Assam were not a communal issue. Speaking to media persons in Guwahati Ahmed blamed certain people including leader of the AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front), Badruddin Ajmal for the violence. Meanwhile police in Banagalore are counseling to stop the exodus of persons and families hailing from northeastern states in the city. Addressing mediapersons, Director General of Police of Karnataka, Lalrokhuma Pachau, said that the police have made progress in the cases of threats against northeastern people in the city.
