Auto Expo: Carmakers set to tap Indian market

New Delhi, January 5 (ANI): Around 50 new car models were unveiled at the Auto Expo 2012 that started in New Delhi today. The makers are eager to move on from a year of sluggish sales caused by high interest rates and rising fuel prices globally. Car sales in India grew 30 percent in the year to April 2011, enthusing manufacturers as economic turmoil hit sales in developed markets. U.S. automaker Ford Motor Co. has also come up with new SUV models to tap the growing Indian automobile market.
