Capitalists welcome in WB: Mahashweta Devi

Kolkata, January 29 (ANI): Maoist sympathizer and noted writer Mahashweta Devi has said that capitalists were welcome in West Bengal, but their projects should benefit the state and its people. Devi made this statement in the context of the proposed steel plant by Jindal Steel Works (JSW) in the state's Maoist infested Jangalmahal. Devi said Jangalmahal is backwards in many respects and special attention has to be paid to developmental projects there. The state government is leaving no stone unturned in assuring assistance to the entrepreneurial house to set up the steel plant with promises of jobs and development for the local people.
