CERN finds new particle, probably Higgs
Geneva, July 04 (ANI): Scientists at the CERN research centre have found a new subatomic particle that could be the Higgs boson, the basic building block of the universe. Chief executive of Britain's Science and Technology Facilities Council, John Womersley informed in an event in London that a particle had been discovered that was consistent with the Higgs boson theory. Spokesman for one of the two teams hunting for the Higgs particle, Joe Incandela, told an audience at CERN near Geneva that it was a "preliminary result" but "very strong and very solid.
