Mamata asks govt. to withdraw NCTC

New Delhi, May 05 (ANI): The NCTC has faced opposition from the Chief Ministers of some states on the grounds that it directly attacks the federal structure of the country and would mean infringing upon the powers of the state. West Bengal Chief Minister and key UPA ally Mamata Banerjee today criticized the Centre for taking an independent decision on formation of the NCTC and also urged the centre to withdraw order on its formation. Banerjee further said that setting up of such institutions with powers of arrest and attack upset the federal structure of the country and is not acceptable to the states.
