Pakistan elects new PM

 
 

Pakistan, June 23 (ANI): The former water and energy minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf has been elected as the new Prime minister of Pakistan by country s lawmakers, after the incumbent, Yusuf Raza Gilani, was disqualified by the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Gilani s disqualification is a blow to democracy. Gilani was ruled ineligible after he refused to re open corruption cases against the president.
