Ramesh asks Maoists to join mainstream politics

Vishakhapatnam, March 04 (ANI): Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh on Saturday urged the Maoists to give up arms and resolve their differences with the government through dialogue. He asked them to join mainstream politics to contest elections. Talking to media persons on the sidelines of a function in Vishakhapatnam, Ramesh asserted that counter insurgency operations had to be supplemented with proactive development initiatives in the backward and tribal dominated areas of the country.
