Rushdie s video link at JLF called off

New Delhi, January 24 (ANI): The much anticipated Salman Rushdie s video interaction at the Jaipur Litfest has been finally cancelled. The Jaipur Police, which had permitted the video interaction today morning, has denied the permission to the organizers of the event, citing law and order problems, as some fringe groups had gathered outside the venue protesting against Rushdie s virtual presence. The Police have said that the owners of the fest s venue Diggi Palace feared, the heritage palace might be targeted by the protestors and hence they requested the organisers to call off Rushdie s video conference.
