Rushdie targets Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi, March 18 (ANI): Booker prize winning author, Salman Rushdie back in India after he was forced by Islamic activists to cancel his Jaipur visit two months ago due to death threats. Speaking at a conference in New Delhi, Rushdie targeted the Congress and party general secretary Rahul Gandhi, saying the Jaipur fiasco was their useless electoral calculations of trying to appease Muslim voters in a state election that was held soon after the festival. Taking a dig at Pakistani cricketer turned politician Imran Khan, who pulled out of a scheduled speech due to Rushdie's alleged anti Muslim writings, the author said that Khan wants to be the ruler of Pakistan and is scared of facing Rushdie s bouncers.
