Sardarpura riots: Setalvad welcomes judgment
Ahmedabad, November 9 (ANI): Hailing the Mehsana court judgment in Sardarpura riots case of 2002, in which 31 were found guilty and 42 were acquitted, social activist and petitioner of the case, Teesta Seetalvad has said that it was the biggest conviction in the history of communal riots in India. Seetalvad added that the Special Investigation team failed to give proper evidence of political involvement in the case. Sadarpura is one of the nine Gujarat riots cases that were handed over to SIT. This is also the first post Godhra train burning case in which convictions have taken place.
