Shutdown affects life in Kashmir

 
 

Srinagar, June 11 (ANI): A shutdown has been observed in Srinagar and other towns in the Kashmir Valley today in memory of the alleged killings of locals during the protests in 2010. The shutdown called by Hurriyat conference Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, impacted life as shops, educational institutions and business establishments were closed in the city. Locals refrained from stepping out of their houses. Speaking to ANI, Irfan, a local said that not only Srinagar but the whole Kashmir would be observing this shutdown call by the Hurriyat Conference.
