Stocks Struggle In Afternoon Trading Friday
Stocks struggled in afternoon trading Friday. News of a downgrade in Europe offset an upbeat jobs report back at home. Total non farm payrolls increased by 103,000 jobs in September. Stocks turned lower after Fitch downgraded Italy and Spain s debt. Sprint will stop selling phones and devices compatible with Clearwire's network at the end of the year. In other corporate news, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger got a contract extension for another 5 years.
