Jorhat, February 05 (ANI): These men and young women swaying to the folk tunes are performing the Chaloya, Mibu Dagnam, Ali Aye Ligang, Gumrag and Selloiya. These traditional Mishing dances are mostly popular in Upper Assam and some parts of Arunachal Pradesh where Mishing community has a strong presence. The dancers were clad in their traditional dresses. Men wore Gonro Ugon and Mibi Golug that is Dhuti and shirt along with their Gamochas and women were wrapped in Yakne Age Gasar and Ribi Gaseng. Most of these artists are undergoing professional training and work closely to promote Mishing culture. They are here performing at the Ethnique the first tourism festival hosted in Jorhat.
