Honda Vezel is a compact urban SUV that shares platform with Jazz hatchback. This compact crossover is expected to hit the Indian roads by the end of 2014. Aiming to impact the expanding compact cross over market, the Vezel comes to India and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 7-11 lakh. The car gets a unique and refreshing appearance with its low roof-line and broad stance. The car is all set to compete with the likes of Ford Ecosport, Nissan Terrano and Renault duster.

Engine and performance
The Vezel is expected to come fitted with Honda’s famed 1.5 litre I-VTEC petrol engine that generates 116 bhp of power and 116 Nm of torque. The diesel variant will be powered by the 1.5 litre I-DTEC engine that delivers 98 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a five speed manual transmission and the petrol version is likely to get the option of five-speed automatic. The diesel mill is known for best in class fuel efficiency of 25.8kmpl.
The design of this urban SUV is based on Honda’s Exciting H Design. The exteriors are stylish and muscular. With a low roof-line and broad stance, the car has a contemporary and innovative design. In the front, it sports a new grille and LED headlights much similar to the ones seen on Jazz. The hidden door handles, tall wheels and the softly fared wheel arches sum up the side profile. In the back, there are curvy lines on the boot lid and the horizontal tail-lamps extend on to the boot lid. All in all, the Vezel has an imposing presence in spite of its diminutive dimensions.
The interiors are spacious and the luxurious cabin comes fitted with all the necessary equipment. The car borrows styling cues from the CR-V and Jazz. The Honda Vezel comes with all black interiors and fabric upholstery. The seats are broader and there is plenty of space inside. Other features include touch screen infotainment system, touch screen climate control, steering mounted controls. The design also ensure better cargo space and greater roominess in the rear seats. What is more, Honda offers a generous 404 litres of boot space.

The 4.3 metre long compact SUV will be fitted with smooth suspension and standard braking system. The Honda Vezel is expected to come with standard safety and security features such as air-bags, ABS with EBD, push button start, rear parking cameras, power windows, keyless entry and cruise control.
