ICML Extreme • Price, Variants & Specifications
The international cars and Motors Ltd, known for its people friendly MUVs, has launched the ICML Extreme, an advanced version of its Rkino. Available in 7, 8, 9 and 10 seater options, the MUV is spacious and comfortable. Priced in the range of Rs.6.17- 9.2 lakh, the Extreme comes in three different models- SD, LD and VD. Assuring pleasurable and safe drive and offering 9 variants, the ICML Extreme is all set to rival the likes of Mahindra Xylo, Quanto and Maruti Ertiga.
Engine and performance
The Extreme is powered by two different engines. The 2L Common Rail Injection turbo charged engine offers a peak power of 120 PS at 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 270 Nm, enabling the vehicle to tackle any type of terrain. The 1994 Direct Injection type engine delivers a decent output with 98.6 bhp of power and 240 Nm of torque. Both the power trains are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The two different mills suit different drive qualities and deliver smooth and powerful drive where as the manual transmission helps to drive with more authority. The car returns a fuel efficiency of around 13kmpl.
The body design is pleasing and the ICML Extreme has got a tall stance. It is more or less similar to the discontinued version, Rhino. The silver color combination for the lower part of the body including the front bumper, side cladding, wheel arches and rear makes it look more elegant and classy. The large headlamps and the boldly designed grille with silver finish complement the front fascia. The side profile is further enhanced by stylishly designed wheel caps and body colored door handles. The LD variant get additional body graphics and is offered in red and white color combination as well. The body decals incorporated in the rear cheater panel make the car trendy.
The ICML Extreme focuses more on functionality than on beautiful curves and luxuries. The base variant comes with back color where as the top one features dual tone color. Absence of luxury inside means cost-effectiveness. The three row AC is available for SD variants while the LD offers only single AC. The top variant comes with a company fitted DVD player and LCD screen in the central console. And, there is a 12 V accessory socket as well. Each variant offers different seating arrangement that can accommodate seven to ten people. The modern features ensures comfort on long journeys. The other key features include Power windows, rear defogger, door pockets door armrests and a mobile charger point. Overall, it has a lot of space in the back though it accommodates ten. However, the plastic stuff inside looks a bit disappointing.
Features and specifications
The ICML Extreme offers standard safety features including ABS, airbags and side and cross car beam. The braking system is superb with ventilated front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The Extreme has light handling and it is quite effective in city traffic. Other key features include collapsible steering column, fog lamps, rear guard and child safety locks.
As for the Extreme, functionality tops the list and it looks more like more an economical MUV.
