The Mahindra Bolero has remained the best selling SUV in the Indian market for more than a decade. This muscular looking car has completely dominated the Indian roads, but in the recent years, the arrival of the luxury SUVs has definitely given it some stiff competition. Mahindra is experimenting with the new Bolero and the vehicle is scheduled to arrive in India by mid to late 2015.
Mahindra new Bolero: price variant and specifications
The new Bolero will offer several engine options. The 2.5 liter diesel engine is the standard. It produces a maximum power of 65 bhp and a peak torque of 195 Nm. Certain trim levels will receive the 2.5 liter turbo charged engine which will generate a power of 63 to 68 bhp and a peak torque of 180 Nm. The engines will be harnessed to a five speed manual transmission. The new advanced NGT 520 transmission with synchronmesh gears in the new version will make shifting gears an exceptionally smooth experience. As many as 16 different trim levels of the new Bolero will be available in the market.

The Bolero had always had a muscular and dominating appearance, but the new version gets a far sleeker package. The front grille has been redesigned with hawkeye shaped headlamps flanking it on both sides while the muscular bumper dominates the front fascia. The side profile of the car is well sculpted and the beautifully contoured door handles add a stylish look. The flared wheel arches make a bold statement. The car has been described as a forest car and it has a definite muscular look.
Though the car appears like a utility vehicle from the outside, the interior gets a decent package. It is a spacious car that can easily seat six people. The seats are ergonomically designed with integrated headrests for maximum comfort. The wheelbase has been extended resulting in increased legroom. An aluminum footstep at the rear helps in easy entry and exit to the car. The dash is beautifully designed and easy to use. Wood finish is seen on the central console in the top level of trims. There are also provisions for modular seating arrangements. The instrument cluster appears quite trendy.

The new Bolero from Mahindra is packed with a number of safety and comfort features. the anti roll bars help the vehicle to grip the road even when negotiating the tightest bends. The long wheelbase with higher ground clearance also helps in increased command over the roads. Central locking and door open warning system add to the safety features. Engine imm0bilizers, multiple seatbelts, head restraints, child safety locks and multiple airbags are other significant safety features.
Apart from these, the new Mahindra Bolero comes with a number of luxury and convenience features. The rear wiper and washer, the air conditioning system and the digital information and entertainment system are other highlights of the luxury features of the car.
