Scorpio is Mahindra’s power that dominates the road. Mahindra introduced the Scorpio in the Indian market in 2002. It was the SUV of India. Still it rules as the SUV with lots of features and with mild hybrid version.
Specification & Variants
Mahindra Scorpio is available in diesel engines; 2.5 litre and 2.2 litre. It arrives in five variants; S3, S5, S7 120, S7 140 and the S11. The last variant is the four wheel drive. The 2.2 litre mHawk four cylinder diesel engine produces 140bhp of power at 320Nm of torque. The 2.5 litre m2DICR, four cylinder diesel engine delivers 75bhp of power at 200Nm of torque. Both are mated to five speed manual transmissions. Scorpio has the start/ stop micro – hybrid system.
Mahindra Scorpio comes in a newly designed front grille, alloy wheels, impressive tailgate, sleek LED tail lamps and ORVM with side turn indicators (that is only on top S11 variant). The aggressive look of the vehicle is increased with the body colored front and rear bumpers and with body colored side cladding. Body colored ORVMs and door handles enhance its appearance. The top S11 variant has 17” alloy wheels.

Boot Capacity Of Scorpio
Mahindra Scorpio offers no boot space separately as it carries a third row seat, but if the rear seat is folded, it offers a boot space of 460 litres.
Fuel Tank Cpapacity
Mahindra Scorpio has the fuel tank capacity of 60 litres.
The new Mahindra Scorpio offers lots of interior features. It has the leather wrapped steering wheel and gear lever and a new mobile holder slot. It has the 6” touchscreen infotainment system with CD, DVD, Bluetooth and navigation. Tilt steering with audio control is also available. Apart from these; there is rear parking camera with sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system and a follow – me - home headlamp. From middle variant onwards, there is height adjustable driver seat and armrest for front passengers. S7 is an eight seater that is unavailable in S3 and S5 variants. The top S11 variant has faux leather upholstery and audio and cruise control buttons on steering wheel.
Mahindra Scorpio has all the basic safety features like ABS. From S7 variant onwards we have dual front airbags, automatic projector headlamps with LED DRLs, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear defogger, rear wiper with washer, anti- theft alert and speed alert. Top S11 variant has cruise control.
Mahindra Scorpio comes in four colors; Pearl White, Napoli Black, Molten Red and DSat Silver.
Mahindra Scorpio competes with SUVs such as Renault Duster and Captur, Honda BR – V Hyundai Creta and Tata Hexa. Though it is a bit tough, with its off road skills, you can drive through most of the terrain with your Scorpio.
