Hero MotoCorp is coming up with a diesel motor in RNT, which will be India’s first 150cc diesel scooter. It was first showcased in 2014 Auto Expo Delhi and now it is to launch in Indian market though the date is not yet confirmed.
RNT comes as a multi utility vehicle which is designed to carry a lot of luggage. The flat floor, luggage carriers at the front and rear and the straps around make it easier to carry the luggage. It gets a detachable LED light and three pod instrument cluster, spacious foot board and cushioned spacious seat.
The 150cc diesel engine could deliver 13.5bhp power and 35Nm torque and 6 speed constant mesh sequential gear box is given. RNT is likely to get a turbocharger and there could be an electric hub motor fitted to the front wheel. Telescopic front fork and rear mono shock suspensions are given for stability. Safety is ensured with large disc brakes both in front and rear.
RNT doesn’t have a direct competitor in the Indian market. It could be an interesting product that could offer impressive performance and handling.
