Nov 19 : Jawa makes a comeback to the Indian market, giving a challenge to the Royal Enfield. The latter claims an outstanding position on the 350 cc segment with its Classic 350. With its popularity and aristocracy Jawa re-enters the segment where Royal Enfield rules. Jawa puts forward a challenge with its 300cc Jawa motorcycle and Jawa Forty Two. Which should I buy?, Should I sell my Royal Enfield 350 for the new Jawa; that is the doubt arising in customers. Here, we have a comparison between Classic 350 and Jawa.
Jawa re-enters with three models, Jawa, Jawa Forty Two and Perak, the last one will be available only in early 2019. Jawa is a bit expensive than Classic 350. Not only that, Jawa has wider rear tyre also. Both have telescopic forks suspension in front, while Jawa has Gas Canister-Twin shock Hydraulic suspension in the rear. Classic comes with twin gas charged shock absorbers with 5 step adjustable suspension in the rear. Classic has the analogue meter console with speedometer and fuel indicator. Jawa has the single-pod analogue meter console which includes speedometer and fuel indicator.
Jawa and Classic have the retro design. Classic adds a modern look with the chrome finishes, round headlamp and thigh pads on the fuel tank. Jawa retains the old school appearance; but it too possesses chrome fuel tank and fully chrome finished dual silencer. The iconic tool box is included to improve the aristocratic look. Jawa is lighter than Classic and it has larger fuel tank. Both claims to have 35 kmpl of mileage. Jawa has old school colors and only three choices whereas Classic has seven varieties of colors.
Upcoming Jawa model Perak
Jawa and Classic are excellent machines that offer heritage. But Jawa possesses more powerful engine and additional safety features. Those who are eager to own an old school style with the special ‘Jawa’ sound and for those who are nostalgic about the past, Jawa will be the answer. Those who are for retro design with some modern feel, Classic will be the right choice. Those who are fine with the price go ahead for Jawa as it is worthier for that. If the company could offer good after sales service too Jawa can take the throne that Royal Enfield possesses.
