February 24 : To pay homage to late political leader and actress Jayalalithaa on her 72nd birth anniversary, the makers of the film Thalaivi revealed a new look of Kangana Ranaut from the film.
In the picture, Kangana is dressed as young Jayalalithaa, which was shared by the makers of the film. Kangana’s team reposted the look on Monday morning. In the new look, the Judgemental Hai Kya actress is seen wearing a pristine white saree with black and red borders paired with a white blouse. Kangana wore a red bindi on her forehead just like the late leader Jayalalithaa, with a warm smile on her face.
Helmed by AL Vijay, the film Thalaivi is based on Jayalalithaa’s life story and the makers of the film promises to disclose some lesser-known facts of her life. The film narrates the leader’s journey as an actress and a powerful political leader.
Earlier, Kangana’s team had shared various pictures on her transformation into Jayalalithaa, for which Kangana had to gain weight. Arvind Swami will play Maruthur Gopala Ramachandran (MGR) in the film, which will be released on June 26 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Kangana will also be seen as an air hostess in Sarvesh Mewara's Tejas.
