February 26 : Despite mix reviews and slow start at the box-office, Dharma Productions first ever horror thriller outing, Bhoot Part 1 – The Haunted Ship has collected 20.78 Cr and filmmaker Karan Johar is excited about it.

Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship is directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh and jointly produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan. It is based on a true accident that took place in Mumbai, and tells the story of a couple on an abandoned ship lying static on a beach.

The film features Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Ashutosh Rana in lead roles, and is the first film of a planned horror film franchise. The film also stars Siddhanth Kapoor, Meher Vij and Sara Gesawat.

Meanwhile on the work front, Karan Johar is currently busy with multi-starrer period drama Takht. The film is a historical drama about the Mughal rivalry for the throne between Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shukoh.

The film stars Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles.
