March 26 : Post the announcement of 21 days lockdown, everybody is fearful of catching Corona Virus and thus whole of India is self quarantined at home. Binge-watching web shows have become a big YES for everyone in this free time.

ZEE5 has some of the best original web series and today we bring to your synopsis of their hard-hitting political drama Kaafir which is a sure shot watch.

'Kaafir' marked the digital debut of the beautiful Dia Mirza and handsome Mohit Raina and both of them proved that they are actors of substance in this gripping series.Well 'Kaafir' is a story of a recently married Pakistani woman Kainaaz Akhtar who tries to commit suicide but winds up in the Indian side of Line of Control (LOC) and is deemed to be a pakistani militant and gets imprisoned for seven years. During her trial in jail, she also gives birth to a daughter and names her Sehar. Lawyer turned journalist Vedant gets to see the footage of Sehar in one of his projects. He gets to know the plight of Sehar and Kainaaz and decides to bring justice to them.

Show has a total of eight episodes, all of them are equally fascinating and intriguing. The story is based in Indian part of Jammu and Kashmir but was totally shot in Himachal Pradesh. Dia Mirza playing the character of Kainaaz totally gets into the skin of her character. Mohit Raina as Vedant gives a strong and promising performace. The show has been beautifully directed by Sonam Nair who captures the turmoil of the innocent men and women who get caught and are thrown into jail. They are accused of being spies and militants with no ray of hope to see their families ever. Penned down by Bhavani Iyer, the hard hitting screenplay is the hero of the film. Cinematographer Pratik Shah tries to evoacte the picturesque beauty of Kashmir and has been successful in that.

The highlight of the film is when Vedant reads out the poem Kaafir. Words given by ace lyricist Swanand Kirkire surely brings a lump in your throat. Each epiosde is beautifully woven with the other and ends up in asking for more.
