June 27 : Before the coronavirus outbreak took place, the movie buffs had the summer months power-packed with new releases. While all the slated Bollywood flicks have been postponed indefinitely, it is reported that some filmmakers may consider digital release. Let’s take a look at some of these films.
Arjun Kapoor’s thriller flick Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar had a March 20 release date, which has been postponed due to coronavirus pandemic. It is uncertain if the Yash Raj film, directed by Dibakar Banerjee, will get a digital release. Before lockdown, Arjun had started shooting for Kaashvie Nair’s untitled romantic film with Rakul Preet Singh. The film is co-produced by John Abraham.
Varun Dhawan’s Coolie No.1 opposite Sara Ali Khan was scheduled to be released on May 1. This David Dhawan film has been postponed due to the nationwide lockdown. Varun has also collaborated with Sriram Raghavan for his biopic on the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient Arun Khetarpal.
Sidharth Malhotra’s Shershaah was slated for July 3, 2020 release. Directed by Vishnuvardhan, the film is a biopic on war hero Captain Vikram Batra, who died in the Kargil War. The film also stars Kiara Advani. Reports suggest that the film might get a digital release.
Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2, directed by Ahmad Khan, has a release date of July 16, which will obviously be postponed now. Tiger will also be seen in Siddharth Anand’s Rambo, a remake of Hollywood blockbuster Rambo.
Before the lockdown, Vicky Kaushal was gearing up for Karan Johar’s Takht, whose shooting has been put on hold. The film is slated to release in December 2021. Vicky will also be seen in Shoojit Sircar’s biopic on Shaheed Udham Singh, which is slated to release on January 15, 2021.
