July 02 : Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco has announced that its model Poco M2 Pro will be launched in India on July 7. Announcing this on its official social media channels, Poco India said that the launch will take place virtually. The new Poco phone will be available for purchase on Flipkart, and it is already listed on its website.
Poco, a sub-smartphone brand of Xiaomi, had launched its F1 model as its first offering in the country. Poco M2 Pro will be its second smartphone in India his year as the company had launched Poco X2 in India in February this year.
Although the Chinese company has not revealed its price or specifications, it seems from the teaser that Poco M2 Pro will sport a quad rear camera setup. It is also rumoured that the new handset will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC. The same chipset powers Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 Pro as well. It is also said that the smartphone will run Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top.
The online launch event will take place at 12 pm IST on the social media platforms of Poco. Flipkart, where the phone will be available to be purchased, has also created a dedicated microsite that reveals just the back of the new handset.
The Flipkart listing suggests that the new smartphone will offer support for fast charging. Flipkart’s dedicated microsite posted a fill-in-the-blank question regarding the speed of the phone, and said “Find the right word and win Poco M2Pro.”
