July 04 : With COVID-19 unlock 2, Bollywood is slowly but steadily coming back to life as actors are starting work on their unfinished projects. After announcing the release of his film Bhuj: The Pride of India on an OTT platform recently, Ajay Devgn announced another film today.
Taking to his Instagram handle, the actor-producer shared the poster of his film Maidaan and asked his fans to mark the date. The biographical sports film directed by Amit Ravindrenath Sharma is slated to release on August 13, 2021. Earlier, the film was scheduled to be released on December 11, 2020. It is “an untold story that will make every Indian proud,” the actor wrote.
Jointly produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Akash Chawla, Maidaan will tell the story of the golden era of Indian football from 1952-1962.
It is also reported that Ajay Devgn is set to announce a film based on the recent attack on the Indian soldiers by Chinese troops in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. He will co-produce the film, the report claimed.
On the work front, Ajay will be soon seen in Bhuj: The Pride of India along with Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Ammy Virk, and Sharad Kelkar. The film will release on Disney + Hotstar. Helmed and co-produced by Abhishek Dudhaiya, the film is set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, and is about the life of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who, along with his team rebuilt the IAF airbase in Bhuj with the help of 300 local women.
