July 08 : Priyanka Chopra will serve as an ambassador at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this year. The actor took to her social media accounts and made the announcement today.
The Sky is Pink actress shared a video on her Instagram handle, in which we can see her different appearances at TIFF over the years. Along with the video, the actress shared a note expressing her gratitude for TIFF, which was like a second home for her throughout the years. “I am very proud to serve as an ambassador this year, and I look forward to continuing a relationship that I value tremendously,” the actress wrote.
The video is a compilation of her speeches at TIFF in different years. It showed her at TIFF in 2009, when she showcased her film What’s Your Rashee at the festival. It also showed her addressing the audience in 2014, when she promoted Mary Kom. She was also shown giving interviews where she talked about her film Pahuna: The Little Visitors in 2018 and The Sky Is Pink in 2019.
This year TIFF will be held from September 10 to 19, and will showcase digital screenings and virtual red carpets for the first time due to COVID-19 pandemic across the world. Besides Priyanka, filmmaker and writer Anurag Kashyap has also been invited as one of the 50 celebrated filmmakers and actors ambassadors of the film festival.
