July 16 : After Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s successful stint with Netflix with the popular series Sacred Games, his two more films are all set to stream on Netflix soon.
Nawazuddin plays the lead role in Sudhir Mishra’s Serious Men based on Manu Joseph’s book of the same name. The film tells a slum dweller's rags to riches story, who tormented with his under-privileged status, utilises his son’s newfound fame to improve his fate. While he cons the country to believe that his son is a genius, he realises that the victim of his dangerous game is his son.
Sharing a clip from Serious Men on his Instagram handle, Siddiqui wrote, “Finding fame was easy. But staying famous? That's where things get tricky.” Earlier, Sudhir Mishra tweeted: “Nawazuddin Siddiqui is brilliant in the film!”
Sudhir Mishra is known for his films like Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin and Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. Serious Men is bankrolled by Bombay Fables and Cineraas Entertainment.
Nawazuddin’s Raat Akeli Hai will also stream on Netflix, where he as a cop will share screen space with Radhika Apte. Sharing a video clip on his Instagram, Siddiqui gave a glimpse of his character from the film. Helmed by debutant director Honey Trehan, and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the crime thriller also features Shweta Tripathi and Tigmanshu Dhulia in key roles.
The film revolves around a policeman, who gets engaged in investigating a high profile murder case in a small town. While he unveils the dark past of the victim’s family, he realises there is much more to what meets the eye.
Nawazuddin and Radhika have earlier shared screen space in Manjhi: The Mountain Man, and in Netflix original Sacred Games.
