August 04 : Redmi 9 Prime was launched in India at a live stream event today. A rebranded version of Redmi 9 global variant that was launched in June, the Redmi 9 Prime is Xiaomi's latest budget-friendly smartphone. The new handset comes in four colour options— Space Blue, Mint Green, Matte Black, and Sunrise Flare.
Price and sale date
While the 64GB storage variant of Redmi 9 Prime carries a price tag of Rs. 9,999, its 128GB storage option has a price of Rs. 11,999.
The sale of Redmi 9 Prime will start on Amazon India at 10 am on August 6—the Amazon Prime Sale Day. After the early access sale, the smartphone will go on sale on August 17 via mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Home stores, and Mi Studios.
Redmi 9 Prime features dual-SIM (Nano) and runs on Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top. Powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 SoC along with 4GB DDR4x RAM, the phone sports a 6.53-inch full-HD+ IPS display with up to 128GB of onboard storage that is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.
The quad rear camera setup of the handset includes a 13-megapixel primary image sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary image sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. It also includes a 5-megapixel macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, the phone comes with an 8-megapixel camera sensor. The smartphone comes with a 5,020mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.
