September 12 : Rakul Preet Singh regretted that she came to know late about the shoot of her upcoming film with Arjun Kapoor got cancelled, it is reported. The actress revealed that she tested COVID-19 negative a day before Arjun tested positive.
The De De Pyaar De actress landed in Mumbai from Hyderabad on September 6 to resume shoot on her untitled film with Arjun Kapoor, and came to know that the 8-day shoot schedule that was slated to start from September 7 has been cancelled as her co-star Arjun Kapoor had tested positive for COVID-19, Mumbai Mirror reports.
Rakul regretted that if she had been informed before she boarded the flight then she could have cancelled the trip. Her flight was on the runway when she received the call about the shoot being cancelled. The report suggests that she immediately called her Telugu film director, Krish, to know if they can advance their shoot dates from September 15, so that her 8 days will not go waste. Unfortunately, even that was not possible as new dates had to be taken from other actors. Eventually, Rakul flew back to Hyderabad on September 9, and said that her schedule has “gone for a toss,” the report states.
The shooting for director Kaashvie Nair’s debut film starring Arjun and Rakul was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic in March. The entire team started shoot in August end. The shooting for the cross-border love story was almost complete when the lockdown struck. The producers of the untitled film, Bhushan Kumar, Nikkhil Advani and John Abraham finally decided to resume shoot at Film City Studios in Mumbai amid strict precautions. A total of 14 days shoot was left for the film. John has a cameo in the film.
